A people group is a unique ethnic group as defined by their language, culture and geography. A people group is considered reached by Christianity if it has a sustained Christian movement within it that contains the ability to multiply. There are 11,259 people groups in the world today. 4,729 are considered reached and 6,530 are considered unreached. 97% of what are considered unreached people groups live in what is known as the 10/40 window (Northern Africa, the Middle East and Southern Asia). Most of them are the poorest of the poor. Christians give $15 billion to missions every year and 95% of it goes to people groups that are strongly Christian. Most of the missionaries that are sent out are also going to those same places. (Taken from the post below)
A task of the church is to finish the prophecies of verses like Matthew 24:14, which says "And this gospel of the Kingdom will be preached to the whole world as a testimony to all nations (ethnic groups), and then the end will come."
Is the simple/organic church the best tool to accomplish this task? There are many reasons why it may be.
